Former Eastern Michigan University defensive end and current NFL standout Maxx Crosby was named the Assistant General Manager of the EMU football on April 14, 2025. Crosby, the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, will assist with evaluating high school and transfer portal prospects and help manage the team’s NIL/revenue share budget. He will also serve as a Special Assistant to the Athletic Director on fundraising, alumni relations, and student-athlete support.
During his time at EMU, Crosby showcased unparalleled skill and dedication to the game. His impressive record of 20.0 career sacks places him among the top defensive players in EMU's history. Additionally, his 41.0 career tackles-for-loss stands as the third-highest in the university's storied football program. In 2017, Crosby equaled the EMU single-season record for sacks, a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence.
Crosby's exceptional performance on the field did not go unnoticed. His outstanding 2017 season, with 11 sacks, firmly established him as one of the premier defensive players in the conference and the nation. Moreover, he became the first EMU player in the modern statistical era to achieve the remarkable feat of three sacks in back-to-back games.
Crosby was selected by the Raiders in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Michigan and has totaled 364 tackles (232 solo), 105 tackles for loss, 59.5 sacks, 23 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and three fumble recovery over his first six NFL seasons.

Crosby was selected to his third Pro Bowl after registering career highs in total tackles (90), tackles for loss (23) and sacks (14.5) in 2023. In 2022, he finished first in tackles for loss (22), second in total tackles (88), tied for fourth in sacks (12.5) and tied for first in forced fumbles (three) among defensive linemen.
He earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021 after starting all 17 games, recording 56 tackles (36), eight sacks and seven passes defensed. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week twice (Weeks 1 and 18), becoming the first Raider to earn the honor multiple times in a season since 2016.
In 2020, Crosby started all 16 games and totaled 39 tackles (20), a team-high seven sacks, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed in addition to two blocked kicks on special teams. As a rookie in 2019, he finished second in the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after posting 46 tackles (35), a career-high 10 sacks, four forced fumbles and four passes defensed.
