Eastern back on home field against Buffalo, Sept. 18

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team fell in their return home against Loyola University Chicago with a 2-0 loss Thursday, Sept. 11, at Scicluna Field in a match where 70% of Eastern's shots were on-goal.

How It Happened
Junior Aniyah Mack (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills/Austin Peay) gave Eastern its first shot on-target in the game, a short right-footed kick five yards out from the net stopped by Loyola's goalkeeper.

Redshirt junior Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) was stout for the Eagles, making three saves in the first ten minutes of play.

Despite Holland's great defense, the Rambler's offense netted its first goal in the 22nd minute after a high shot from the left corner barely passed over Holland's glove, bouncing off the far post into the net.

Taking its lead into the second half, Loyola doubled its advantage after a well-placed shot 20 yards out missed Holland, who couldn't stretch far enough to make the save.
