Eagles Set to Lift Lid on Outdoor Season

The Green and White will begin the outdoor season in North Carolina

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team will lift the lid on their outdoor season this weekend, March 25-26, with the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. The Eagles will send a small number of mid-distance and distance runners to compete in the event.
In total, 10 EMU runners will be making the trek to North Carolina. Senior Scott Bradley (Battle Creek, Mich. – Lakeview) will be running in the 800m, the event in which he took second at the Indoor Mid-American Conference Championships, Feb. 26-27, while graduate student Joshua Sabo (Akron, Ohio – Revere) will run the 1500m. Moving to the 5000m, the Green and White will be represented by redshirt sophomores Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland - Mountain Ridge) and Mitch Lenneman (River Falls, Wis. – River Falls), as well as junior Kieran Reilly (Dover, Great Britain - Dover Grammar School for Boys).
Additionally, four Eagles will run in the 10000m. Redshirt sophomore Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium - Stedelijk Lyceum Paardenmarkt Luchthaven), redshirt junior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio – Maumee), redshirt sophomore John Knox (Gloversville, N.Y. – Gloversville), sophomore Csaba Matko (Racalmas, Hungary - Szechenyi Istvan Gimnazium), and redshirt sophomore Nick Raymond (Erie, Mich. – Mason) will all be running in the race. Finally, Sabo, Reilly, Lenneman, and Andresson will also be participating in the 4x1500m relay.
The meet is slated to begin Friday, March 25, at 9 a.m. Action will resume the following day, March 26, at 11 a.m. For more information on the event, please click here.
