Kyle Napier is in his first year as the Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Eastern Michigan University. bringing a strong background in strength and conditioning, applied sport science, and athlete development. He supports EMU student-athletes through structured training programs, performance monitoring, and daily weight-room operations.
Before arriving at EMU, Napier gained Division I experience as a graduate assistant in sports performance at USC Upstate, where he implemented testing and training programs for multiple teams, managed performance technology, and supervised an internship program. His background also includes roles with Wofford College Football, GVN Performance, and Spartan Performance at Michigan State, working with sports ranging from basketball and baseball to soccer, hockey, and volleyball.
Napier holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University, with a focus on sports coaching and leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from MSU. He completed a second Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2026. He also earned a Sport Coaching and Leadership graduate certificate from Michigan State.
Napier was a four-year member of the Michigan State cheerleading program. He earned Male Rookie of the Year honors during his first season. During his competitive career, the team recorded a top national finish of 10th in the country.
Napier is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and holds CPR and AED certification. He has completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Poliquin International Certification Program.
