Dayna Schaffer enters her second year with Eastern Michigan University Athletics after joining the department in October 2025 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She serves as the primary athletic trainer for the volleyball program.
Before coming to EMU, she worked with Promedica Hospital and Siena Heights University from 2021-25, where she supported a range of sports including volleyball, softball, baseball, basketball, cheer and dance, and wrestling. Her dedication and teamwork earned her Siena Heights’ Staff of the Year honor in 2024. Schaffer began her professional career as an athletic training intern at Adrian College from 2020 to 2021.
A native of Plymouth, Mich., Schaffer earned both her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Master of Athletic Training from Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2020.
She and her husband, Ryan, live with their three children, twins Jackson and Dustin, and their youngest, Oaklee.
