Sidney Clarke comes to Ypsilanti following the hiring of her husband, Taylor Clarke, as Eastern Michigan's head soccer coach. Before Eastern, Clarke served as a professional academic advisor at Ashland University from 2021-24. Before that, she spent four seasons as the assistant coach at Ashland, three under both Kevin Foeman and Remy Foeman prior to graduating. According to Kevin Foeman, "she helped train some of their best defensive teams, and her firsthand knowledge of building programs will be crucial here at Eastern Michigan".

"I am excited for the opportunity to get back in the gym and coach with Kevin and Remy after working for them at Ashland University," said Clarke. "It is awesome to see it all come full circle and be here in my hometown, coaching the sport I love at a whole new level". 

The Saline, Mich. native played for four seasons at Lake Erie College, the last three under Foeman's direction, as the Storm leaped from three wins in her freshman season to 26 last season when she was a senior. She was a member of the winningest senior class in Lake Erie history.Additionally, Clarke was a two-time all-conference appointee, once as a member of the GLIAC in 2016, and then in the G-MAC as a senior. She totaled 1,635 digs, 309 assists, and 113 aces in her career as a libero.

Clarke earned her bachelor's degree from Lake Erie College with a double major in business administration and marketing in 2018 before obtaining a Master's in Business Administration from Ashland University.
