Eagles outscored Jaguars in the second half

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Despite 23 points from Addison Patterson, the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team dropped a 90-83 decision to IU Indy Friday, Nov. 14, inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.
 
Patterson (Mississauga, Ontario/Bella Vista/Oregon/Nevada/Salt Lake CC/Tallahassee State/Northwestern State) was 4-for-4 from three-point range in a game that was tied at 74-74 with 5:49 left.
 
Mohammad Habhab (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn/Central Michigan) produced 15 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season while Jon Sanders II (Detroit, Mich./Southfield Christian/East Los Angeles College/Coastal Carolina/Northwestern State) scored 16 points in his first start of the season.
 
How It Happened
A fast-paced start saw Eastern open up a 15-7 lead, helped by eight points from Patterson.
 
EMU's lead quickly evaporated as IU Indy took a 21-19 lead with a 14-4 run.
 
The Jaguars continued their up-tempo action, scoring 26 points in the final 5:42 of the half to take a 49-38 advantage into the intermission.
 
The visitors extended their lead to 52-38, their largest advantage of the contest, before EMU notched a quick 8-0 spurt.
 
After IU Indy pushed its lead back out to double digits, the Eagles continued to claw their way back into the contest with an 11-2 run, capped by free throws from Braelon Green (Southfield, Mich./Southfield/Arizona State/Bowling Green), to tie the game at 74-74 at the 6:08 mark.
 
Eastern converted just one field goal in the final 6:39 of the contest as the Jaguars scored 16 of the game's final 25 points.
 
Game Notes
» Eastern was 30-of-73 (41.1%) from the field and 7-of-25 (28.0%) from the three-point line while IU Indy was 35-of-64 (54.7%) from the floor and 10-of-21 (47.6%) from three-point range.
» EMU held a 40-36 edge on the glass, including grabbing 18 offensive rebounds. The Eagles' 50 offensive boards through three games is their top mark since the 2019-2020 season (55).
