Kian Wiles Earns Second Team Honors as the Eagles Complete MAC Championships

AMHERST, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University cross country programs competed in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 1. Senior captain Kian Wiles earned Second Team All-MAC honors.
The men finished the 8k in sixth place with 119 points, while the women finished the 6k in 10th with 296 points. The University of Toledo won the meet for both the men and women's races.
For the men, Wiles (Hull, England/St.Mary's College), led the Eagles with a top 10 finish, running the 8k in 24:33.2 (8th), earning second team honors. He was followed by Ronan Codyre (Aukland, New Zealand/Macleans College), who finished in 24:52.4 (15th), and Isaac Garcia (Greely, Colo./South County), who finished in 24:58.4 (19th). Next was Jimmy Geller (London, England/Davenant Foundation School), in 25:28.0 (36th), and Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), in 25:33.4 (41st) to round out the scoring.
In the women's race, Liv Hatch (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso), led the Eagles in the 6k with a time of 21:53.4 (35th). She was followed by Lucy Jones (Haverhill, England/Normanhurst School), who finished in 22:18.7 (54th), and Frankie Moore (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills), who finished with a personal-best time of 23:06.6 (83rd). Rounding out the scoring was Sophie Emin (Easton, Pa./Easton Area), in 23:14.9 (88th), and Erika Van Loton (Garden City, Mich./Huron Valley Lutheran), who finished with a personal-best time of 23:22.1 (91st).
