Funds collected will go towards a new 8+ boat
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University rowing team launched its crowdfunding page today, Feb. 12, with hopes of collecting funds that will support a new 8+ boat.
All who are interested in supporting the team through donations can click here for direct links to contributions, as well as for more information surrounding the funding efforts.
"The new crowdfunding initiative is going to allow us to take our final steps to getting a new boat," Head Coach Kemp Savage said. "Our alumni and family have been really supportive in building our base funds and now we just need to get over the top with this final push. If we meet our goal, we should be looking at getting a new boat before our CAA Championships."
Crowdfunding offers donors, alumni, and fans a modern avenue to directly support EMU student-athletes and the teams most meaningful to them. The crowdfunding platform will streamline the sport club model for sport-specific fundraising, and allow for better communication and understanding of how donors generous support positively impacts EMU student-athletes. This will also allow teams to visually show their specific fundraising goals to donors and display how they are achieving them.
The 2018 portion of the schedule begins Feb. 24 as Eastern Michigan squares off with Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Action between the Eagles and Crimson Tide is scheduled for 9 a.m.
For more information on ways to give or make a pledge toward a crowdfunding effort, please contact Dan McLean, Senior Associate AD for Development, at 734.487.1050 or dmclean4@emich.edu.
