Eagles Close Out ITA Midwest Regional with Doubles Play

Martinovska and Mayerova completed the fall schedule in the regional's Round of 16
EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University tennis team completed the fall portion of its schedule Saturday, Oct. 22, when the Eagles' doubles squad of Andrea Martinovska (Plzn, Czech Republic-Sport and Management School) and Marie Mayerova (Krmelin, Czech Republic) fell in the Round of 16 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Associationan (ITA) Midwest Regional.
The Czech duo were pit against the nationally ranked doubles team of Alex Chatt and Maddie Lipp from Northwestern. The No. 8-ranked squad topped the Green and White, 8-2, closing out the Eagles' fall portion of the 2016-17 campaign.
EMU returns to action when dual match season begins in a few months. Eastern Michigan will next hit the court for competition Friday, Jan. 13, when the Eagles flock to Youngstown, Ohio to take on Youngstown State.
