Eastern had just five matches in the final day of the SMC Fall Invitational
MORAGA, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University's tennis team completed the final day of the 2015 Saint Mary's Fall Invitational Sunday, Oct. 11, as the Eagles had four student-athletes in competition over the course of five matches.
In doubles play Andrea Martinovska and Klara Supejova knocked off Saint Mary's duo Parminder Kaur and Kareena Manji, 8-5, while Anna Veleva and Renu Sharma fell, 8-1, to Gonzaga's Nevada Apollo and Alex Bourguignon.
Moving on the singles play, Supejova and Martinovska continued their winning ways. Martinovska defeated Portland's Saroop Dhatt, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (4), while Supejova took down SMC's Vanessa Nomesson, 7-6, 6-4. Sharma moved on to the C Draw consolation finals after her win on Saturday, but came up shy in the finals match, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (8), to San Jose State's Justine Deleval.
The Eagles return to action Oct. 22 when they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Regional hosted by the University of Michigan.
