GREENSBORO, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) - One day after running the second-fastest 100-meter hurdle time in Eastern Michigan University women's track and field history, freshman Vanessa Clerveaux (Brockton, Mass.-Brockton) took 20th in the semifinals at the NCAA East Regional, May 25.

Clerveaux ran the race in 13.53. In order to crack the top-12 to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, the EMU hurdler would have needed to eclipse the school record of 13.34, as a 13.29 was required to advance to Eugene, Ore.

The Green and White will have one representative at the national championships in Eugene. Sophomore Victoria Voronko (Stavropol, Russia-University of Moscow) secured a spot with a school record-breaking run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, May 24. Voronko took ninth with a 10:08.10.
