–  The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team saw wins in four events at the Silverston Invitational this afternoon, Feb. 16, inside the University of Michigan Indoor Track Building. While some Eagles rested in preparation for the conference championship meet, the athletes who competed performed at a high level.

Freshman Vanessa Clerveaux continued her strong debut season for the Green and White, winning the 60-meter dash in 7.60 along with the 60-meter hurdles in 8.30, a personal-best and the third best mark in EMU history.

EMU swept the top three spots in the 200-meter dash and Danielle Clark crossed the finish line first in 24.88. A pair of freshman, Aaliyah McKinney and Morgan Yeadon finished behind Clark in second and third, respectively.

Latipha Cross was victorious in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.02.

In the field events, Tatijana Jacobson finished runner-up in the high jump of a leap of five-feet 10.75-inches. Teammate Kate Wolanin followed in third, jumping five-feet five-inches. Lydia Gomez-Diaz took fourth in the weight throw, and Adrienne Waisner finished seventh with a career-best toss of 49-feet 10-inches, good for fourth place in the school record books.

The biggest meet of the year awaits the Green and White as they host the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, Feb. 22-23, at Bob Parks Track in Bowen Field House.
