The official ground-breaking for EMU's new multi-purpose indoor practice facility was held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the building site of the facility, on the lower outdoor football grass practice field at the corner of Huron River Drive and Westview Drive. Eastern Michigan University’s football and volleyball teams are teaming up to make a difference in the battle against breast cancer by partnering for a special “Dig and Kick Pink” event during their respective home games Saturday, Oct. 24. EMU Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg has announced that Michigan State University has signed home-and-home agreements in football and men's basketball for future schedules. The Spartans have agreed to schedule the EMU men's basketball team for a game here in the Convocation Center during the 2011-12 season. It was another record-setting season in both athletics and academics for Eastern Michigan University student-athletes in 2008-09. For their efforts, 54 EMU student-athletes earned All-MAC honors in 2008-09.
