Alsu Bogdanova Tabbed MAC Track Athlete of the Week

This is the second weekly award for Bogdanova this season after she won MAC Scholar Athlete, Dec. 6
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University redshirt senior track and field athlete, Alsu Bogdanova (Kazan, Russia-Lyceum #83), earned Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 11, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 13. This is the third consecutive week Eastern has won the award.
The Kazan, Russia native put together a record-setting performance in the 3000m at the Husky Classic, Feb. 10, crossing the finish line in 9:05.81 to earn the all-time event record. The time surpassed current senior Jordann McDermitt's (Davison, Mich.-Davison) time she set in last season by almost five seconds. Additionally, this time broke her own career-best by nearly 10 seconds, and now ranks first in the MAC, and 18th in the country.
Bogdanova and the Eagles compete in their last meet of the regular season Friday, Feb. 16, when they participate in the Silverston Invite in Ann Arbor, Mich.
