Eastern Finishes Day One of OSU Winter Invite

The Eagles finished the day with four career-best times
COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up day one of competition at the Ohio State Invitational, Saturday Feb. 10. Overall, the Eagles turned in three top-15 finishes and four career-best times.
Freshman Gus Maxwell (Crawfordsville, Ind.-North Montgomery) and redshirt junior Max Wilkinson (South Lyon, Mich.-South Lyon) paced the Green and White, both turning in a top-10 finish. Maxwell claimed seventh in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:40.57, but clocked a career-best time of 4:38.64 during the morning preliminaries session. Meanwhile, Wilkinson's top finish came in the 100 free where he posted a career-best time of 45.99, good for a ninth-place finish.
Senior Josh Kreider (Coopersburg, Pa.-Southern Lehigh) had a top-15 finish on the day when he touched in a season-best time of 50.74 to take 12th in the 100 butterfly.
The Green and White concluded the day with a fifth-place finish in the 200 free relay at 1:25.94.
The Eagles return to the pool tomorrow, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. for prelims. The finals session is slated for 4 p.m.
