Tyler Brown Earns MAC Track Athlete of the Week

This is the first weekly honor earned by an Eagle this season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University redshirt senior track and field athlete, Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio-Findlay), earned Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending Jan. 28. He earned this award for his outstanding performance during the SVSU Jets Pizza Invitational, Jan. 27.

Brown capped off the second day of the invite by notching a new season-high in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 47.33 to take the event title and claim the top performance for the event in the MAC so far this season. With his performance Saturday, he now holds both the top ranking in the 400m and the third best time in the 200m this season. Additionally, Brown placed second in the long jump during Friday's action, notching a distance of 7.30m.

Brown and his teammates return to action this weekend, Fri.-Sat., Feb. 2-3, as they take part in both the Meyo Invitational and Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.
