Jessica Harris Earns MAC Track Athlete of the Week

This award comes after her outstanding performance in the Wolverine Invitational
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University junior track and field athlete, Jessica Harris (Slidell, La.-Slidell), earned Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors for the period ending Jan. 14. This award was earned for her impressive performance during the Wolverine Invitational, Jan. 13, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is the first weekly conference award earned by Harris.
The Slidell, La.-native took first in the 60m dash, crossing in 7.51 to earn her first event title of the season, before going on to place second in the 200m run with a time of 24.62. Both of her event times serve as new team-bests for the season, and she has now placed in the top three in every individual race she has participated in this year.
Harris and the Eagles look to continue their early-season success when they travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to take part in the Tom Wright Classic Friday, Jan. 19. Competition is slated to begin at 5 p.m. starting with field events, while track events are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
