EMU Rowing Begins Season Against Michigan

The Eagles and Wolverines will compete in exhibition action Sunday, Sept. 17

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University rowing team will open its fall season with a multi-piece exhibition against the University of Michigan, Sunday, Sept. 17, at Belleville Lake.

"It is great to get a chance to race a team that finished in the top three in the country last year," Head Coach Kemp Savage said. "It gives us a chance to test our speed and to put into perspective the work we still have to do."

The scrimmage will begin at 9:30 a.m., while the two squads will launch at 9 a.m. The exhibition meet will comprise of four pieces, all of which will be a distance of 3,000 meters.

Sunday's clash is the first of four fall meets for the Green and White. Following this weekend's exhibition, the Eagles will head to East Lansing for the Head of the Grand, Oct. 15, before competing in the Head of the Charles (Oct. 21) and the Head of the Hooch (Nov. 4-5).
