Eagles to open season Friday, Sept. 1, vs. Charlotte at "The Factory"

Complete Schedule.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football team will play at least six of its football games on national television in 2017. Kickoff times for eight games were also released, as the Mid-American Conference set times for the first three weeks of the regular season and much of the midweek October and November games slated for national television distribution.

EMU will look to build upon its resurgence last year that saw the program finished tied for the most improved program in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).

Eastern Michigan opens the season at home against Conference USA foe University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Sept. 1, at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN3. EMU will then hit the road, traveling to Big Ten Conference opponent Rutgers University, Sept. 9. An early season bye week is followed by a visit from MAC East Division Champion Ohio University, Sept. 23.

Fourth-year Head Coach Chris Creighton and his team will then be on the road for the next three weekends with stops at the University of Kentucky, Sept. 30, the University of Toledo, Oct. 7, and Army West Point, Oct. 14. The Green and White return home for the annual homecoming contest against defending MAC Champion Western Michigan University, Oct. 21, for its final Saturday contest of the season as it transitions to midweek football.

The Eagles will be showcased nationally a total of five times in October and November to close the regular season. The five straight midweek contests to close the schedule are a program first since the MAC began playing nationally-televised non-Saturday November games in 1999.

EMU treks to DeKalb, Ill. Thursday, Oct. 26, to battle Northern Illinois University on either CBS Sports Network or ESPN3. A Thursday, Nov. 2, contest inside "The Factory" then awaits EMU against Ball State before back-to-back road games at Central Michigan University Wednesday, Nov. 8, and at Miami University Wednesday, Nov. 15. The Eagles then close the regular season against Bowling Green Tuesday, Nov. 21. The pre-Thanksiving finale marks just the second time since 2007 that the Eagles will not have to play on "Black Friday".

All remaining game kick times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled games.

Since the start of the 2008 campaign, Eastern Michigan has had 100 games either televised or streamed via the Internet.  Fifty-three of those small-screen appearances have occurred on the ESPN-family of networks (37 ESPN3, 7 ESPNU, 5 ESPN+, 2 SEC Network, 1 ESPN, 1 ESPN2, and 1 ABC). Eastern has also been a part of three nationally televised games on the CBS Sports Network.

Season tickets for the 2017 EMU football season are now on sale to see the Eagles. Buying a season ticket is your best deal, as you will save 44 percent when compared to the single-game rate at the door.  Tickets are on sale online at EMUEagles.com/tickets, by calling  734.487.ENOW (3669), or by visiting the EMU Ticket Office daily between 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
