Fink Reels In COSIDA Academic All-District Honors

This is the third straight season in which Fink has been recognized
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - For the third consecutive season, Eastern Michigan University men's track and field distance runner redshirt senior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio - Maumee) reeled in Academic All-District First Team honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Fink was the lone Mid-American Conference honoree among the 11 first team honorees from District Five.
Fink, a master's student with a 3.82 grade point average while studying chemistry, is having yet another stellar season in his final go-around donning the Green and White. At the indoor conference championships, he won the mile, 3000m, and 5000m, nabbing First Team All-MAC and MAC Championship MVP honors.
The Maumee, Ohio native claimed both the 3000m steeplechase and the 5000m title at the MAC Outdoor Championships, while also taking third in the 1500m to secure MAC Championship MVP honors yet again. Throughout the year, he was named MAC Track Athlete of the Week four times, including for his sixth-place fininsh in the 3000m steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Relays. Additionally, he was also awarded MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week twice.
The First Team All-MAC recipient also qualified to the NCAA East Regional for the fourth time in his career, where he will racing in the 3000m steeplechase Friday, May 26, in Lexington, Ky, at 9 p.m.
