LOUISVILLE, Ky. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior outfielder Michelle Kriegshauser (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln Way Central) garnered National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Great Lakes honors, the association announced Thursday, May 18. A third team selection, Kriegshauser is just the second player in program history to reel in NFCA All-Region honors twice in their career, joining EMU great Lauren Clark, who was named to the first team in 2006 and 2007.

Just over a week after being named Second Team All-Mid American Conference, as well as the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week and MAC West Player of the Week, Kriegshauser added another award to her mantle, solidifying her legacy as one of the all-time greats in EMU history.

Leading the Eagles in batting average for the fourth consecutive season, Kriegshauser hit a hefty .375 at the dish, the sixth-best single season batting average in EMU history. Recording 60 hits over the course of the season, Kriegshauser tallied 27 extra base knocks. She tied the single season program record and led the MAC this season with 17 doubles, while also adding nine home runs. Her nine round-trippers rank tied for 10th in single season laurels. Scoring a career-high 37 times, Kriegshauser paced the Green and White in the category, while recording the sixth-most runs in a season all-time.

Posting a team-best 19 multi-hit games this season, Kriegshauser has totaled 67 multi-hit efforts for her career. She has added five multi-RBI games this season to go along with a trio of three-hit games and two four-hit showings. She tied the program record with a seven-RBI performance against Georgetown, Feb. 24, at the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational, and has homered twice in a game two times this season.

Kreigshauser not only etched her name into the single season records in her final season in Ypsilanti, but she has also rewritten the EMU career records and climbed the MAC charts during her time donning the Green and White. She is the only Eagle to ever register 200+ hits, 100+ runs, and 100+ RBI's in their career, while the senior outfielder also holds the program records in career batting average (.361), doubles (57), and slugging percentage (.624). In addition to holding the program standard in each of the three categories, she is ranked tied for second in league laurels in doubles, fifth in slugging percentage, and 18th in batting average. Kriegshauser also ranks inside EMU's top-10 in home runs (2nd-29), hits (t2nd-211), runs (5th-110), and RBI's (6th-105).
