It is the fifth weekly honor for the Eagles this season
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University redshirt senior outfielder Jordan Peterson (Gilbert, Ariz.-Highland (Chandler-Gilbert C.C.)) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced, May 15. It is the fifth weekly award earned by an EMU player this season, and the first for a position player.
Peterson had a monster game in the 14-3 sweep clinching victory over NIU, May 14. The outfielder finished the day with four hits, three home runs and a double, while setting the EMU program record for RBIs in a single game with nine. One of his dingers was a grand slam as part of a two-home run inning in the third. It was the first grand slam for an Eagle player since the 2010 MAC Tournament.
