Green and White Wrap Up Tennessee Relays After Three Busy Days

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team wrapped up the Tennessee Relays, Saturday, April 8. The final day of competition saw a number of relays, as well as a few other events finishing up.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of sophomore Jessica Harris (Slidell, La. – Slidell), freshmen Micah Johnston and Brittni Mason (Richmond Heights, Ohio – West Geauga), and junior Jasmine Jones (Greensburg, Pa. – Hempfield Area) clocked in at 45.85 seconds, which was good for seventh place. Eastern finished one spot better in the 4x400m relay, as senior Khadesha James (Irvington, N.J. – Irvington), Johnston, junior Natalie Cizmas (Clinton Twp., Mich. – Chippewa Valley), and Jones crossed the finish line in 3:45.25 to take sixth.
The trend continued in the distance medley relay, with sophomore Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind. – Zionsville Community), James, junior Rebekah Branham (Circleville, Ohio – Circleville), and Cizmas teaming up for a fifth-place finish. Specifically, the group clocked in at 11:51.87.
In the discus, senior Megan Pendleton (Lindsey, Ohio – Woodmoore) was the lone EMU participant. Pendleton finished 16th in the field, notching a mark of 39.64 meters/ 130 feet 1-inch.
Next week, the Green and White will spread out for a pair of meets. Some of the Eagles will head to California for the Mt. SAC Relays, April 13-15, while others will travel to Muncie, Ind. For the Ball State Challenge, April 14-15.
