Vote Now on The Ypsi Awards Play of the Year

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Voting is now open for the Eastern Michigan University Athletics Play of the Year, to be presented at the annual Ypsi Awards on Monday, April 17, at the Convocation Center.
Eagle fans are encouraged to watch the video and vote on their favorite of these eight remarkable plays. The nominees for play of the year are: Tim Bond's SportsCenter Top-10 dunk against Central Michigan, Football's game-winning touchdown over CMU to seal EMU's first bowl appearance in 29 years, Kayne MacCallum's overtime pin of Kent State's Jerald Spohn, Women's Indoor Track sweeping the top three spots on the podium in the 3000m at the 2017 Indoor MAC Championships, Kendall Valentin's program record-tying 9.95 bars performance at West Virginia, Rowing winning two out of three races to claim the fourth Harvey Cup in EMU history, Cam Hart clearing 7 ft- 1.75 inches to secure a MAC title in the high jump, and Nick Jones' walk-off single to top Bowling Green at Oestrike Stadium.
Voting for Play of the Year ends on Tuesday, April 11, at 5 p.m.
In addition to the Play of the Year, finalists for each of the other 17 awards have been determined and are listed below. Eastern Michigan coaches nominated student-athletes for the awards and the list was narrowed down to the finalists in each category by members of the Ypsi Awards Committee. Winners for the awards will be selected by a vote from each team and each office within the athletic department.
An all-sports, ESPY-style awards show, The Ypsi Awards, features live performances and presentations by several EMU student-athletes. A total of 18 awards will be presented, honoring the accomplishments of EMU student-athletes from the 2016 spring, 2016 fall and 2016-17 winter sports seasons.
The event is set for April 17 at 7:30 p.m. and is open to all family and friends of EMU Athletics.
