YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University men's track and field alumnus Donald Scott competed at the USA Track & Field Indoor National Championships this past weekend, March 3-5, in Albuquerque, N.M. Specifically, Scott competed in the triple jump, turning in a strong second-place finish.

Competing against some of the best triple jumpers in the country, Scott secured a top-three finish, taking second with a jump of 16.99 meters/ 55 feet 9-inches, which was a personal-best and one of the best in the nation this season. The EMU record holder was also just .11 meters, or just over four inches, away from the first-place finisher. Scott's mark also blows away his collegiate best of 16.84 meters/ 55 feet 3-inches, which was set at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2015.

While with the Eagles, Scott had a fantastic career, as he was both the EMU and the Mid-American Conference record holder in the triple jump for both indoor and outdoor seasons. In addition to being the top triple jumper in program history, he was also an accomplished long jumper, holding the third-best jump in the EMU record books.  Scott was named a First Team All-American as a senior in both the 2014-15 indoor season and the outdoor season after posting top-three finishes at the national championships.
