KENNESAW, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team carded a final round 309, to finish with a 54-hole score of 906 (295-302-309) at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate, March 28, on the par-72, 6,032 yard Pinetree Country Club course. The Eagles claimed 12th-place in a stacked field, which consisted of five top-45 teams.
No. 13 ranked Kent State shot a 295 final round to win the event, finishing one shot ahead of No. 24 Purdue and two strokes ahead of No. 35 Texas Tech, who rounded out the top three. No. 27 Illinois claimed fourth, while No. 45 Augusta wrapped up fifth.
Junior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) and sophomore Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) were Eastern's top finishers, as the duo turned in final round scores of 76 to finish the with a 54-hole score of 225, tying for 32nd.
Senior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) tied for 44th after carding 228, while freshman Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) are tied for 61st-place with a 231. Sophomore Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) rounded out EMU's scores, tying for 76th with a 239.
The Green and White return to action, April 8-9, in Bloomington, Ind. for the Indiana Invitational.
