A Pair of Dual Matches On Tap for EMU This Weekend in Nebraska

The Eagles will travel to Lincoln, Neb. for two non-conference duals
LINCOLN, Neb. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's tennis team hits the road for the second-straight weekend, Feb. 10-11, when it heads to Lincoln, Neb. for a pair of non-conference dual matches. The Eagles (1-5) will first square off with the University of Nebraska, Friday night, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. CT. The following day, Feb. 11, the Green and White will take on Creighton in an 11 a.m. CT dual. Both matches are set to take place at Nebraska's Dillon Tennis Center.
The Eagles and Cornhuskers (5-0) have met on the court nine times in the two programs' histories. Eastern Michigan has yet to defeat Nebraska, holding an 0-9 record versus the Big Ten Conference opponent. The last time these two squads got together was just a season ago, Nebraska coming away with a 5-2 victory over EMU, Jan. 29, 2016. In that match, Ani Gogvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia-Khikani) came out to defeat Katerina Matysova, 7-5, 6-4, in the No. 4 spot, while Renu Sharma (Fardabad, India) knocked off McKenna Maddox-Herr in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
As for the Bluejays (2-2), there has been just one meeting between the two squads. The Green and White came away as a 7-0 victor over Creighton, Feb. 11, 2011. In that contest, the Eagles swept singles play without dropping a set and only lost one of its doubles matches in the win.
