Camp Information
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — With a strong start to the 2017 season in the books, the Eastern Michigan University women's gymnastics team has announced that the Eagles will host a summer camp from Thursday, July 6, through Saturday, July 8.
Campers will have the opportunity to interact with and be coached by the Eagles' new coaching staff, including Head Coach Sarah Brown. Brown has continued to build upon last season's success, as the Eagles currently rank within the top-30 teams in the nation. Previously, Brown had coaching stops at Michigan, Southeast Missouri State, and Missouri, in addition to also being a successful collegiate gymnast at Missouri and Utah.
Additionally, campers will be able to learn from EMU assistant coach Dallas Becerra, who comes to Ypsilanti after coaching at AIM Gymnastics Training Center in Texas. Becerra has played a big role in the Eagles' strong season on bars, as the Green and White broke the EMU bars record earlier this season and currently rank No. 8 in the country on the event.
Now in her third season with the team, Shea Anderson has been a big part of the Eagles' ascent through the past few years. The former Iowa State gymnast helped EMU qualify to NCAA Regionals for the first time in program history last season, in addition to also helping Eastern repeatedly break records throughout 2016, including a score of 196.600 as a team.
The camp will also feature guest coaches from throughout the country, and current EMU gymnasts will work with the campers daily. For more information on the camp, please click here, or utilize the following link: https://camps.jumpforward.com/EMUGymnastics
