CLEVELAND, Ohio. (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced today, Feb. 28, that eight Eastern Michigan University men's track and field student-athletes earned spots on the All-MAC teams. In total, EMU put two on the first team, in addition to six on the second team.

Leading the way for the Eagles was redshirt senior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio - Maumee), who was a first team indoor honoree for the third time in his career. Fink concluded the indoor championships with three event titles, winning the mile, 3000m, and 5000m. Specifically, Fink clocked in at 4:09.24 in the mile, 8:12.75 in the 3000m, and 14:28.38 in the 5000m, leading an EMU sweep in each event. For his performance, Fink was also named Most Valuable Performer.

Also earning first team honors was sophomore Cameron Hart (Columbus, Ohio - Bishop Hartley). Hart, earning the honor for the first time, had a spectacular two days of competition, finishing atop the podium in the high jump and taking third in the long jump. Hart's mark of 2.18 meters/ 7 feet 1.75-inches in the high jump was a personal-best, as well as tied for the fourth-best jump in the EMU record books.

Moving to the second team, freshman Ivan Suazo (Brooklyn, N.Y. - Westland) concluded his first conference championships with a runner-up finish in the 60m hurdles. Suazo snagged a finals spot after posting a time of 8.16 seconds in the prelims, improving to a time of 8.10 seconds in the finals to finish with the silver. Additionally, redshirt junior Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium / Stedelijk Lyceum Paardenmarkt Luchthaven) also earned second team honors for the first time in his career. Bouchikhi finished runner-up in both the 3000m and the 5000m, clocking in at 8:16.92 and 14:28.58, respectively.

Finally, the entire distance medley relay team also earned second team honors after placing second with a time of 9:56.65. Earning the award was redshirt junior Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland - Mountain Ridge), sophomore Elijah Barber (Columbus, Ohio - Eastmoor Academy), freshman Dan Kuhn (Erie, Pa. - Harbor Creek), and redshirt junior Mitch Lenneman (River Falls, Wis. - River Falls). Andresson also finished second in the mile, crossing the finish line in 4:09.43. The honor is the second of Andresson and Lenneman's careers, while it is the first for Barber and Kuhn.

The Eagles now wait and see if any individuals earned a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championships, which will be held in two weeks, March 10-11, down in College Station, Texas.
