Matan Segal Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

Its the first honor of his career
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Following his performance at the Michigan First Chance Meet, Feb. 18-19, freshman swimmer Matan Segal of Eastern Michigan University's men's swimming and diving team was named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 21.
In his first year sporting the Green and White, Segal has made an instant impact, culminating in the first conference accolade of his career. In his only race of the weekend, the 200 Individual Medley, Segal clocked in with a time of 1:54.33.
Segal is the fourth Eagle to earn the league award this season joining sophomores Tosh Kawaguchi and Jake Tyson, as well as freshman Benjamin Ryan, who won the honor last week.
Segal and the Eagles return to action in Carbondale, Ill., March 1-4, at the MAC Championships.
