Eagles Host Northwestern Ohio in Lone Dual this Week

EMU will square off with UNO Friday afternoon
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's tennis team returns to the Chippewa Racquet Club this Friday, Feb. 17, when it hosts the University of Northwestern Ohio for a dual match. The Eagles (2-6) will take on the Racers (2-2) at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. The match will be the first ever between the two squads.
Eastern Michigan is coming off of a 4-3 victory over Creighton University where it swept doubles play, before sophomore Marie Mayerova (Krmelin, Czech Republic), Ani Gogvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia-Khikani) and Alejandra Barcelo Almoyna (Alicante, Spain-IES Figueras Racheco) each went on to pick up singles wins.
For UNO, the Racers defeated Denison University, 7-2. An NAIA foe, Northwestern Ohio uses all three doubles matches as points toward the final score in its matches. However, in its matches at NCAA Division I universities, all matches will use the doubles matches as one point.
