Last Day Dog Rescue to be at the Convocation Center for the basketball doubleheader

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics is partnering with Last Day Dog Rescue in Livonia, Mich. for Adopt-A-Pet Day on Saturday, Feb. 25, as part of the men's and women's basketball doubleheader at the Convocation Center.

Beginning at 11 a.m. in the atrium of the Convocation Center, LDDR staff will be on-site conducting adoption applications, as well as signing up anyone interested in volunteering with the organization. Dogs and cats will  be in attendance, and fans are encouraged to come prepared to find their new best friend to take home.

"Being a part of the community is a role we deem very important in our department," stated EMU Assistant AD for Marketing Tony Orlando. "Last Day Dog Rescue is a vital organization that saves the lives of animals throughout our state. We are thrilled to bring them to the Convocation Center, allowing the public to both adopt or sign up to volunteer and assist our furry-friends in need."

The dogs, cats, and LDDR staff will be on-site from 11 a.m. until halftime of the women's basketball game, which is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff.  The men leadoff in game one of the doubleheader at noon against the Huskies of Northern Illinois University.

"We are so proud to partner with EMU for this event," said Terry Packer, Marketing & PR Director for Last Day Dog Rescue. " This is a great opportunity for someone to enjoy a fun afternoon and maybe meet their new best friend."
