AMES, Iowa & ALLENDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team turned in another excellent day of competition at the Iowa State Classic and the GVSU Big Meet today, Feb. 10. The Eagles finished eighth as a team in Allendale, while a squad of distance runners had exceptional performances in Ames.
"We had a great day at Iowa State," remarked Head Coach Sue Parks. "Three out of the four athletes who raced had personal bests and Natalie Cizmas was very close. All of the girls ran very strong, competitive races in a national level meet. Jordann McDermitt had an incredible showing for the second week in a row with huge personal bests in the 3000 last weekend and in the 5000 today. I am very proud of her for all of the hard work that she has put in to get to this point. It's going to be exciting to see how she closes out the indoor season."
"I feel that the team is improving in all areas and we are right where we need to be heading into the MAC meet," said Parks. "We will focus on working on all of the little things that we need to do in order to be ready for our best possible performance in Ypsilanti in two weeks."
