Eagles of the Week Presented by EMUCU

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are volleyball athlete, Mallory Rajewski, and wrestling athlete, Kayne MacCallum.

Mallory Rajewski
Sport: Volleyball
Position: Setter
Year: Redshirt Junior
Major: Elementary education

Week's Achievements: Mallory Rajewski put together an all-around dominating performance at the setter position in Eastern Michigan's 2-0 weekend. The junior averaged 10.5 assists per set, finishing with 63 total, and 4.00 digs per set, finishing with 24, in the two sweeps of Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. The Midland, Mich. native also added 10 total kills (1.67 per set) with an attack percentage of .444. Her seven kills against WMU marked both a season and career-best for the setter. Rajewski has now surpassed the 700-assist plateau this season, playing the majority of the year as one of two setters in the Eagles' 6-2 system. She is just 18 assists shy of 2,000 for her career, and reached the 800 dig mark for her career this weekend. Her play helped the Eagles stay alive in the MAC Tournament picture with just two matches to play.

Kayne MacCallum

Week's Achievements: Redshirt junior Kayne MacCallum had a perfect 3-0 weekend, helping the Eastern Michigan University wrestling team to a 2-1 start in dual action. In his season opener, MacCallum did not give up a single point in a 6-0 decision victory against Gardner-Webb. The veteran followed that up with a 13-1 major decision win to seal a dual win over American. He capped the perfect weekend with a 5-2 decision bout win over Campbell.
