YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - On the heels of a come-from-behind win that snapped a five-game skid, the Eastern Michigan University soccer team readies for week three of Mid-American Conference action. Eastern hosts Bowling Green State University Thursday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m. in a rare mid-week conference bout. The Eagles then hit the road for their second game of the week, making the short trip down US-23 for a Sunday tilt against the Rockets of the University of Toledo, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m.
Fans can follow the game via live stats through the links found on the soccer schedule  page of EMUEagles.com. Additionally, the action on the pitch will be live tweeted from the team's account, @EMUSoccer.

EMU VERSUS THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS:  Eastern Michigan holds a 27-20-2 all-time record against this weekend's competition, having squared off with Bowling Green and Toledo a combined 49 times.
EMU and BGSU have met on the pitch 24 times, with the Eagles leading by a 14-9-1 tally. The Green and White came out on top in the last meeting, as Peyton Davis and Ellie Tillar notched goals to lead EMU to a 2-1 victory.
Eastern owns a slim 13-11-1 lead in the all-time series versus Toledo. The Eagles needed overtime to top the Rockets, 2-1, in last season's match. Sabrina McNeill scored in the 12th minute, but UT tallied the equalizer in the 75th minute to force OT. In extra time, it was McNeill again, this time notching the game-winner in the 96th minute.

WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS:  The Eagles posted a 2-5 record in the month of September. One game into the month of October, EMU is out to a 1-0-0 mark since the calendar turned.

DOUBLE DIP ON TAP FOR PINK DAY: Thursday is a Pink Day Doubleheader, featuring the EMU soccer and volleyball teams. Following the Green and White's match against Bowling Green, fans are encouraged to attend the volleyball match between the Eagles and Central Michigan at 7 p.m. A silent auction, with items ranging from EMU memorabilia to adidas gear, will begin at Scicluna Field before moving into the Convocation Center for the volleyball match. Fans who bid on items at soccer will have to attend the volleyball match in order to claim their prize or continue to bid on the item. All proceeds benefit the Side-Out Foundation.

WILLIAMS JOINS THE 200-SAVE CLUB: Junior goalkeeper Kaylin Williams has become a mainstay in between the pipes for the Eagles since the start of the 2015 season. After amassing 64 saves as a true freshman due to Megan McCabe's nagging injuries, Williams bounced back with 81 saves in 2016 as EMU's starting keeper. So far this season, Williams' second as the Eagles' starter, she has racked up 60 stops, pushing her career total to 205. A five-save effort versus Buffalo, Sept. 29, made the Kansas City, Mo. native the program's seventh member of the 200-save club.

EASTERN MICHIGAN MIDWEEK:  Since the 2007 season, Eastern Michigan has played 19 midweek contests, compiling a 5-10-4 record in matches played Monday-Thursday. The Eagles will look to earn their first midweek victory since Oct. 30, 2014, when the Green and White shutout Bowling Green, 3-nil.

GETTING THE MONKEY OFF HER BACK:  Returning from an injury that sidelined her for just about all of the 2016 campaign, Kristin Nason was looking to pick up where she left of as a redshirt freshman in 2015. In her first year on the pitch, the Brooklin, Ontario native led the Eagles with seven goals and 14 points. This season, Nason is tied for second on the team in shots (28), but had not been able to find the back of the net in the first 12 games of the season. Against Akron, Oct. 1, Nason bury a shot past the keeper for her first goal since Oct. 25, 2015.

PK'S PK:  Parys Kerr's penalty kick goal in the 83rd minute against Akron, Oct. 1, marked the sixth consecutive season in which the Eagles have converted a PK. Kerr joins Stef Barcelos (2016), Julia Lombardi (2015), Angela Vultaggio (2014), Stephanie Clarke (2013), and Bianca Rossi (2012) to capitalize on a penalty kick opportunity during the streak. Additionally, Kerr is the first freshman to record a goal on a PK since Clarke accomplished the task back in 2010.

BALANCING THE BOX SCORE:  Through 13 games this season, the Eagles have kept the offense fairly balanced. In fact, 10 different players have recorded a point, while five different Eagles have notched both a goal and an assist this season. In all of 2016, EMU had 11 players register points and six tally both a goal and an assist.

EMU IN THE GLASS CITY:  When Eastern travels to the Scott Park, Oct. 7, it will be looking for its first win in the Glass City since the 2012 season. The Eagles blanked the Rockets 3-nil in the Sept. 23 clash as Cara Cutaia's brace and Bianca Rossi's insurance goal led the Green and White to victory.

HAVE TO CASH IN: The Green and White rank third in the conference in shots, but have struggled to capitalize on opportunities. Eastern also ranks top in the conference in corners. Despite racking up more scoring chances than any team in the league, the Eagles are slotted 10th in goals per game.

ANOTHER NEW STARTING XI:  Injuries have forced Head Coach Scott Hall to use a variety or starting lineups this season. In fact, through the first 13 games, Hall has used nine different lineups. Most recently however, Hall put the youth at the forefront, using a starting XI that featured six freshmen against Akron. For the season, only four players have started every match; Kaylin Williams, Peyton Davis, Chanel Vani, and Madeline Olson.

LEAVING HER MARK: In her first two and a half seasons donning the Green and White, Kaylin Williams has established herself as one of the top keepers in Eastern Michigan history. Ranked inside the top-five in a number of statistical categories already, Williams is in the company of former EMU greats Monique Budani, Sarah Willis, Megan McCabe, and many others. The Kansas City, Mo. native is currently slotted sixth in shutouts (8), seventh in saves (205), and eighth in goals against average (1.52), while her 574 shots faced rank third all-time.

HOME COOKING:  Eastern Michigan has found consistent success when playing at home over the past 22 years, compiling a 106-55-28 overall record, good for a .636 win percentage, at Scicluna Field. This season, the Green and White are 3-2-1 on its home pitch.

ALL ABOUT THAT #MACTION: Eastern Michigan is in its 20th season competing in the Mid-American Conference this weekend. The Eagles have compiled a 108-66-25 record in league play and are looking to claim their fourth MAC title, and first since 2013. Eastern was the 1999, 2003, and 2013 MAC Regular Season Champion, while EMU was the West Division Champion in 2013 and 2014.

THE ELDER STATESMAN: Entering his 19th season at the helm of the Eagles, Head Coach Scott Hall is the longest tenured women's soccer coach in the Mid-American Conference. Hall had been the second-longest tenured coach, but following Bobby Kramig's resignation after 34 years leading the Miami RedHawks, Aug. 4, Hall took over the top spot. Hall's three MAC Regular Season titles are tied atop the most in conference history.

ON THE HORIZON: The Eagles remain on the road next weekend, Oct. 13-15. EMU opens week four of #MACtion in Muncie, Ind. Friday, Oct. 13, against Ball State, before traveling to Oxford, Ohio for a Sunday matinee versus Miami.
