Eagles Head to East Lansing for Match with Michigan State

It will be the 38th meeting between the two Michigan-based schools
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Heading into its second weekend of the championship season, the Eastern Michigan University tennis team returns to action for a Sunday, Jan. 22, matchup with Michigan State University. The match is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
Eastern Michigan is no stranger to facing their in-state rival, Michigan State. The Green and White has met with the Spartans on 38 occasions, winning just five of them. The Eagles' last victory over the Spartans came during the 2004 campaign when EMU knocked off Michigan State, 4-3, Feb. 6. Last year against MSU, Eastern dropped a 5-2 decision in East Lansing, Mich. Former Eagle Klara Supejova took down Davina Nguyen in the No. 1 singles spot, 6-2, 6-1, while Marie Mayerova (Krmelin, Czech Republic) dropped Lexi Baylis, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, in the second singles slot.
