Four EMU runners participated in the 3000m, with junior Jordann McDermitt (Davison, Mich. – Davison) pacing the group with a third-place finish in 9:25.64. Two Eagles took home top-five finishes in the 5000m, as junior Natalie Cizmas (Clinton Twp., Mich. – Chippewa Valley) finished fourth with the second-quickest time in EMU history at 16:12.72, which was a personal-best. Just behind her, senior Alsu Bogdanova (Kazan, Russia – Lyceum #83) took fifth, clocking in at a career-best 16:20.77, improving her hold on the third-best mark in program history. Sophomore Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind. – Zionsville Community) also had a top-10 finish, taking eighth with a time of 16:44.93, bumping her into seventh in the EMU record books.

In the 60m hurdles, junior Allyson Goff (White Lake, Mich. – Walled Lake Northern) brought home the silver in 8.72 seconds. Senior Natalie Uy (Kettering, Ohio – Fairmont) finished atop the podium in the pole vault, winning the event with a vault of 3.80 meters/ 12 feet 5.5-inches. Junior Dace Dreimane (Ventspils, Latvia - Ventspils Gymnasium No. 1) had a strong day in the long jump as well, bringing home gold in the event with a jump of 5.77 meters/ 18 feet 11.25-inches. Finally, sophomore Morgan Turner (Norwalk, Ohio – Norwalk) nabbed 17th in the weight throw with a toss of 14.11 meters/ 46 feet 3.5-inches, which was good for 10th in EMU history.

After the opening weekend of the season, McDermitt currently holds the No. 1 spot in the 3000m according to the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).
