Eastern will compete in a total of nine regular season meets before traveling to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships.
Two weeks after the conclusion of the indoor season, the Eagles kick off the outdoor season with the Raleigh Relays, March 24-25, down in Raleigh, N.C. The following week, EMU travels west, heading to Stanford, Calif. for the Stanford Invitational, March 31- April 1.
Staying on the road, the Green and White then head south for the Tennessee Relays, April 6-8, in Knoxville, Tenn. The Eagles split up the following week, as some of the team will return to California for the Mt. SAC Relays, April 13-16, while others will remain close to home for the Oakland Invitational, April 15, in Rochester, Mich.
Despite not being in the state of Michigan, EMU remains in the midwest for the next meet, making the three-hour drive south to Columbus, Ohio for the Jesse Owens Invitational, April 21-22. The next pair of meets has the team splitting up once again, as some will head to Philadelphia, Penn. for the Penn Relays, April 27-29, while other team members stay in Michigan for the Gina Relays, April 27-29, down in Hillsdale.
The regular season comes to an end with the Toledo Invitational, May 4-5, giving EMU one final opportunity to gain experience before the postseason begins. The Outdoor MAC Championships, May 11-13, will be held in Kalamazoo, Mich., as EMU looks to regain the title for the first time since 2015.
Should any individuals qualify, the NCAA East Regional takes place two weeks later, May 25-27, down in Lexington, Ky. The 2017 season then comes to a close with the NCAA Championships, June 7-10, out west in Eugene, Ore.
The Eagles resume the 2017 indoor season this Saturday, making the short trek west to Ann Arbor for the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 14.
