Complete Schedule.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Men's Basketball Coach Rob Murphy released the squad's 2016-17 schedule Tuesday Sept. 6. The Eagles will host 15 games inside the friendly confines of the Convocation Center, while they will travel for 16, including four as part of the 2016 2K Classic.

The Green and White will open the season on the road for a pair of contests. Eastern will head to Pittsburgh, Pa. to square off with the University of Pittsburgh Panthers Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. The matchup will be the first of four games for the Eagles in the 2016 2K Classic. Following the game at Pitt, EMU will travel to the Lone Star State to square off with Southern Methodist University for another 2K Classic contest Sunday, Nov. 13. The tilt is currently slated for 1 p.m. CT at Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas.

Eastern will return to the Convocation Center for its first home game Tuesday, Nov. 15, when it takes on Rochester College before heading to Indianapolis, Ind. for a pair of contests. The two games in Indy will serve as the Eagles final two games in the 2K Classic. First, EMU will take on Gardner-Webb University at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, the home of the IUPUI Jaguars, Friday, Nov. 18, at a time to be determined. After its contest with Gardner-Webb, the Eagles will go head-to-head with either IUPUI or Howard University the following day, Nov. 19.

EMU will return to Ypsilanti for two games, squaring off with Madonna University Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. before hosting the University of Nebraska-Omaha Saturday, Nov. 26, at noon. The contest with Omaha will be the backend of a home-and-home after Eastern dropped the Mavs a year ago, 80-73, Dec. 1, 2015.

After the quick homestand, the Green and White stay in the Great Lakes State, as they head to Detroit, Mich. to square off with the University of Detroit Titans at Calihan Hall. The matchup with Detroit is slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday night, Nov. 30. EMU will quickly come back to the Convo to host Siena Heights University Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2  p.m. before hitting the road again.

The Eagles will travel to the University of Vermont Saturday, Dec. 17, to square off with the Catamounts at 1 p.m. before traveling to upstate New York to take on Syracuse University. EMU will take on The Orange Monday night, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome.

The final two non-conference tilts will take place at the Convocation Center. Eastern will host Marygrove College Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. before Long Beach State University comes to Ypsilanti for a 2 p.m. game a week later, Thursday, Dec. 29.

EMU's 18-game league slate begins Tuesday, Jan. 3, against instate rival Central Michigan University. The league schedule is highlighted by a trio of doubleheaders with the EMU women's basketball team and a matchup at home against defending MAC Tournament Champion Buffalo, Jan. 7.

EMU will play each MAC West Division opponent twice, while squaring off with each East Division foe a single time, with the exception of two cross-divisional opponents. The Eagles double crossovers this season will be against Ohio University and the University of Akron.

The first round of the MAC Tournament is scheduled for March 6 at campus sites before action shifts to Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, for the final rounds from March 9-11.
