EMU Men's Basketball to Hold Tryouts for 2016-17

An informational meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team will conduct open tryouts for students wishing to walk on to the program for the 2016-17 season, as well as tryout to be a practice player to help prepare for opponents during the upcoming campaign.
Students interested in learning more about the tryouts are required to attend an informational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 3 p.m. in the Convocation Center (for both the walk-on tryout and practice team tryout). All Information regarding compliance and medical paperwork and requirements will be discussed at the meeting. A tryout will be held the following Wednesday, Sept. 28, with the tryout starting at 4:15 p.m. If you do not attend the meeting, you will not be able to participate in the tryout.
Prior to trying out, potential student-athletes must:
- Bring proof of a medical physical by a physician within the last 6 months
- Bring proof of insurance
- Bring proof of sickle cell blood test results
- Be registered through the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Center at www.eligibilitycenter.org
- Be enrolled in at least 12 hours at Eastern Michigan University
