Eagles of the Week Presented by EMU Financial

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are volleyball players Mallory Rajewski and Jordan Smith.

Mallory Rajewski
Sport:  Volleyball
Position: Setter
Year:  R-Sophomore
Major:  Elementary Education

Week's Achievements:  Rajewski commanded the Green and White attack, churning out a team-high 68 assists in just seven sets, good for 9.71 per set. Rajewski's distribution of the sets led the Eagles to a team attacking percentage of .241, while opponents hit at just a .156 clip. Rajewski rounded out the stat line with 14 digs, four blocks, four kills, and an ace. For her efforts she was named to the Maryland Invite all-tournament team

Jordan Smith
Sport:  Volleyball
Position: Outside Hitter
Year:  Sophomore
Major:  Psychology

Week's Achievements:  Playing in nine sets, Smith was the Eagles' top attacking threat. The Solon, Iowa product finished the weekend with a team-high 35 kills, averaging 3.89 kills per set, also the most on the team. Hitting a blistering .365 at the net, Smith added 15 digs, seven blocks, and two aces over the weekend. For her efforts she was named to the Maryland Invite all-tournament team.
