Christian Hanselmann Named Assistant Swimming Coach

Hanselmann swam collegiately at Brigham Young
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Swimming Coach Peter Linn announced today, Aug. 26, the addition of Christian Hanslemann to his coaching staff for the upcoming season.
"We are excited to welcome Christian," Linn said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge about the sport and a passion for coaching that will help every swimmer in our program."
Hanselmann comes to Ypsilanti after spending the past two years in Tennessee. A graduate of Brigham Young Unversity, Hanselmann served as a graduate student manager for the Tennessee Volunteers swimming and diving program under Matt Kredich. In his role with the Vols, Hanselmann organized recruiting efforts, assisted in the administration of dryland training, and helped with video anaylsis.
While in Knoxville, Hanselmann was an assistant coach for Tennessee Aquatics where he ran the elite high school group, oversaw the master's program. and assisted the head coach in both the age group and senior programs. He also coached the Bennington-Farrington swim team.
Prior to his time in Tennessee, Hanselmann made assistant coaching stops in Utah and Indiana at the club level. Prior to a one year stint as an assistant coach for the Hilltop Aquatic swim team in American Fork, Utah, he spent summers as an assistant with the Southeastern Swim Club in Fishers, Ind. In addition to working with the Southeastern Swim Club during the summers, Hanselmann spent one year as a manager and three as a student-athlete for the BYU swim team.
Hanselmann graduated from BYU in 2014, earning his Bachelor's degree in exercise and wellness. He also holds a Master's degree in sport psychology from Tennessee.
