Eastern Michigan University men's track and field alumnus Donald Scott wrapped up the triple jump finals today, July 9, at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. Scott, who qualified into the finals after finishing second in the qualifying round, came up just short this time around.

Scott, who managed to qualify into the finals as the second-ranked triple jumper after the qualifying round, finished in seventh-place overall. Specifically, Scott posted a jump of 16.69 meters/ 54 feet 9.25-inches, which was just behind his qualifying round mark.

Despite Scott falling just short of qualifying for the Olympic team, the EMU men's track and field team will be represented by Eric Alejandro in Rio, as he qualified for Puerto Rico last weekend in the 400m hurdles.
