Mitcheltree claimed 99th-place in her final race of the week

OMAHA, Neb. (EMUEagles.com) - 
Junior backstroke phenom, Alexis Mitcheltree (Moon Twp., Pa.-Moon Area) wrapped up the Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team's time at the U.S. Olympic Trials today, July 1. Competing in her second race of the trials, Mitcheltree placed 99th in a deep 200 backstroke field.

Mitcheltree held her own on the national stage, capping the week with a converted time of 2:02.89 in the 200 back. Her 99th-place finish marks her highest of the week, after taking 107th-place in the 100 back earlier this week. 

With trials complete, the Eagles turn their focus to offseason training for the 2016-17 season. EMU is slated to begin the campaign in October.
