YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team returns to the course this week for its final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championship at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green, at the par 72, 5,960-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The 36-hole tournament begins Saturday, April 9, and continues to Sunday, April 10, with split tee starts beginning at 10 a.m.

Besides EMU and the host Falcons, other teams in the field include: Ashland, Boston University, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Dartmouth, Detroit, Ferris State, Findlay, Illinois-Chicago, Northern Kentucky, Niagara, Ohio, and Youngstown State.

Last time out, the Eagles placed 10th at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate behind a 25th finish by sophomore Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) and junior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth).

Murphy leads the Green and White with a 74.830 stroke average and three top-10 finishes including. Beck is second on the team with a 75.71 stroke average, while senior Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario, Canada-St. Augustine Secondary School) is third at 76.83.

EMU was the runner up at the event in 2014 with a 633 (305-328), as Murphy finished tied for second with a 152 (75-77).
