The Eagles will compete both in Michigan, and in Iowa

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – After having the majority of the team compete at one event, the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team will spread out with a trio of meets this week, April 28-30. Staying close to home, the Eagles will compete at the Gina Relays, April 29-30, while the team will also travel to Iowa for the Kip Janvrin Open, April 28, and the Drake Relays, April 28-30.

Last week at the Jesse Owens Classic, April 22-23, the Green and White had a pair of performances listed among the top-100 times of the season thus far. In the 3000m steeplechase, redshirt junior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio – Maumee) clocked in at 8:51.98 to win the event. His time, which is currently No. 29 nationally, also earned him Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors. In addition, the 4x400m relay group of seniors Jeff Elam (Latrobe, Pa. – Greater Latrobe Senior), Matthew Williams (Moreno Valley, Calif. – Vista Del Lago), and Mason Waynes (Kenosha, Wis. – Bradford), and junior Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio – Findlay) posted a time of 3:09.33 to take home the gold. Specifically, their time comes in at No. 67 so far this season.
