EMU Athletics Honors Upcoming Graduates

42 student-athletes will receive their degrees

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University will hold its Winter Graduation this Sunday, April 24, in the Convocation Center. Among the graduates, 42 Eastern Michigan student-athletes will be receiving their degrees. The Athletic Department also hosted a reception to honor the winter and summer graduates on Wednesday, April 21.
"When our student-athletes cross the stage, receive their diploma and earn their degree, there is no prouder moment for our coaches, academic staff and myself," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Heather Lyke. "We are constantly impressed by our student-athletes' ability to balance their academic and athletic demands and excel as individuals and members of a team at an exceptionally high level. Thank you to our academic staff whose expertise guides their academic careers and keeps them focused on our most important goal, to earn a degree and become a proud alums of Eastern Michigan University."
"I am so very proud of our student-athletes that will be graduating at the end of this academic year," added Dr. Talea Drummer, EMU's Associate AD for Student-Athlete Support Services. "We look forward to continuing our tradition of giving our student-athletes a stole that will show they are an EMU student-athlete at commencement."
Also of note, EMU seniors who participated and completed the career development program that was started this academic year will receive a special gift to help prepare them to enter the job market.
