Eagles of the Week Presented by EMU Financial

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Financial's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Tony DiLeo and softball player Abbie Minsker.

Tony DiLeo
Sport: Baseball
Position: Catcher
Year: Senior
Major: Marketing

Week's Achievements: DiLeo was the hero in the 4-2 upset win over Michigan State, April 5. The senior backstop finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, home run and the two winning RBI's. The homer was his first in almost two years, with the last one also coming versus MSU. Prior to the upset win, Michigan State entered the game having received votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and were tied for first atop the Big Ten Conference.

Abbie Minsker
Sport: Softball
Position: Pitcher
Year: Junior
Major: Chemistry

Week's Achievements:
Minsker fueled the Eagles to a win over Kent State University, April 8, to finish the week 1-1 in the circle. The Howell, Mich. product tossed her sixth complete game of the season and her first career shutout as the Green and White won the series opener, 6-0, at the Diamond at Dix. Minsker fanned five batters along the way, two short of her career-high, and held a potent Golden Flashes lineup to just four hits at their home stadium. Minsker's shutout marked the first of the season for the Eagles and the first time EMU has shutout an opponent since April 18, 2015.
