YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —
The Eastern Michigan University football team has scheduled a practice at Ford Field, the home of the Detroit Lions Monday, March 28. The practice is scheduled to run from 3:30 p.m. until 5:25 p.m. inside the 14-year old stadium. All fans are welcome to come enjoy the open practice. The free event is open for the entirety of practice as the Eagles will suit up into their helmets and shoulder pads for all of the area to watch.

"It is a great opportunity for our football team to practice at Ford Field this coming Monday," said Head Coach Chris Creighton. "Obviously it is the home of the Mid-American Conference Championship but also the Quick Lane Bowl, which the MAC has had an opportunity to be a part of. I think it also helps break up some of the potential monotony, although we haven't felt that yet to be in Detroit. We are Eastern Michigan and we represent this part of the state. So, we are going to invite people to this open practice and see us do our thing."

Parking facilities adjacent to Ford Field are available on a first come, first serve basis. The Ford Field Parking Deck and Lots 4, 5 & 6 are managed by Ampco System Parking. Lots 1, 2, 3, W, and the Lions/Tigers Garage are the closest lots managed by Olympia Entertainment.

Eastern Michigan has had a long-standing relationship with Ford Field as the Eagles previous hosted games in the venue from 2004 to 2007. The inaugural Collegiate Clash was held, Nov. 6, 2004, when the Eagles recorded a 61-58 four-overtime victory over Mid-American West Division rival Central Michigan. That first year's game was also part of a doubleheader with Wayne State and Hillsdale squaring off in the opener. Collegiate Clash II went to a single-game format with EMU dropping a 44-36 decision to MAC West Division rival Western Michigan, Nov. 5, 2005. The Eagles hosted Navy in 2016 and the team's last contest in Motown was in 2007 against Northwestern University.

The Eagles continue the spring practice schedule Monday, March 21, with their sixth practice. Prior to hitting the field, Creighton sat down with Greg Steiner to discuss how practice is going for both the offense and the defense. To listen to the interview, click here. EMU will wrap up its spring schedule Saturday, April 9, when the team holds its annual Spring Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside The Factory at Rynearson Stadium.
